Dixieland Cattle Company

Dixieland Cattle Company is a full-lifecycle cattle operation. This means we raise cattle from birth, wean and background them, and finish them for individual consumption. As a fourth-generation cattleman, quality care for our livestock and land is a constant consideration when making decisions about day-to-day operations, herd health and nutrition, and land management.

There are two primary reasons that we choose to continue on the path started by my great-grandfather. The first reason is that growing up in a farming family taught me that if something needs to be done, you do it. There are many days that it would be much easier to sell the cows and have more time to do other things, but cattle are one of the top meat products sold in the US and their continued production is needed. We could leave that up to others, but I feel compelled to play my part in the industry. The second, and more important, reason is that I want my son to grow up around farming and have the opportunity to learn some of the life lessons and skills that I learned as a child to better prepare me for life.
